Mitsubishi Colt price: then you must be missing something

Mitsubishi is experiencing its renaissance in the Netherlands behind Renault. First came the new Mitsubishi ASX, which was derived from the Captur. And now there is a Japanese clone of Clio with a well-known name, Colt. We enter the price list of both models.

Clio almost 1000 euros more expensive

The base price of the Mitsubishi Colt is 21,990 euros, while for the Renault Clio you pay at least 22,950 euros. You save almost 1000 euros… but also a lot of energy. The 1.0 liter Colt three-cylinder petrol engine produces 65 hp. The Clio also has three cylinders, but it has a turbo and is good for 91 hp. With the Colt you also have to make do with five gears, while the Clio has a six-speed gearbox.

It’s not like the Mitsubishi is just being shut out by the Renault with a slow, turboless three-cylinder. Of course you can choose the 91 hp and the sixth gear, but the price of the Colt will go up a lot. You pay 24,990, though the standard equipment is more, including keyless entry and the ability to charge your phone.

And then a complex hybrid engine from Renault. Mitsubishi can also use this. The Colt 1.6 Hybrid costs 27,990 euros. The Renault E-Tech Hybrid 145 is an affordable option with a starting price of 25,820 euros, although it is not well equipped. For example, the Colt has 16-inch alloys as standard, but for the Clio you have to upgrade to the Techno equipment level. And at a price of 27,820, it is almost in Colt’s range.

All in all, there’s not much credit for bargain hunters to take from the Colt and Clio; versions with the same engine and equipment cost the same. There is a big difference in the warranty: Renault does not exceed two years, while Mitsubishi is very generous with an eight-year factory warranty.
