Mitzie J. Witherspoon | Anniversary

Mitzie J. Witherspoon of Cadillac passed away Monday, April 8, 2024 at home. He was 85 years old.

Mitzie was born on April 14, 1938 in Newberry, Michigan to Ace Franklin and Leona (Slaght) Fulk.

She graduated from Cadillac High School in 1956 and worked for Sprague Insurance Corporation for 15 years. Mitzie was a member of Temple Hill Baptist Church in Cadillac since 1978, where she served on various committees over the years. Mitzie volunteered at Mercy Hospital Gift Shop for 14 years, Center Lake Bible Camp, and The Shepherd’s Table. He loved traveling with his friends and spending time at the Senior Center. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.

He is saved; his daughter Debra Witherspoon and her husband Will Paiz of Wyoming, Michigan; her grandson, Josh (Kari) Sisson; grandchildren: Zayla & Amira Sisson, Rylee & Carter Canaan; siblings: Phil Fulk of Kingsley, Skip (Sharon) Fulk of Cadillac, Sherry Howell of Freeland; many nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law, Ella Telgenhoff and Emogene Boerma all of Cadillac.

On October 26, 1957 in Cadillac she married Richard E. “Dick” Witherspoon and he preceded her in death on October 2, 2006. In addition to her husband Mitzie was preceded in death by her son, Richard “Rick” Witherspoon on March 27, 2024.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 12, 2024 at Temple Hill Baptist Church in Cadillac with Pastor Andy Brubaker officiating. Burial will be in Cherry Grove Township Cemetery in Wexford County. Visitation will be prior to the service at the church.
