Moto3: Sniper team again by David Almansa / Moto3

After a bad start to the season with a broken arm on the first day of training, David Almansa had to watch the first two GP races in a cast. The Spaniard will be in Austin.

Like Moto2 rider Jake Dixon, David Almansa, a regular rider for the Italian Snipers team in the smaller World Championship, is yet to race this year. Here too, the forced break was due to an injury Almansa sustained during practice at the Losail desert track in Qatar. On the first day of training, the Spaniard was thrown out of the Moto3 Honda twice. Fall #2 broke a bone in his left arm.

After surgery in Barcelona and subsequent treatment, Almansa has now been given the green light to continue the season in the United States. The 18-year-old benefited from the cancellation of the Argentine Grand Prix and just missed the second stop of the MotoGP tour in Portugal after Qatar. In the Algarve, Almansa was represented by Qatari Hamad al Sahouti.

For David Almansa, Austin should be the beginning of the end of his normal World Cup career. So far Almansa has been working as a substitute pilot. In addition to its attractive helmet design, it also caused excitement with its impressive performance. Especially with his rise as replacement for Joel Kelso in PrĂ¼stel GP CFMOTO in Argentina, Almansa suggested a permanent commitment in the fight for victory.

Snipers team boss Mirko Cecchini confirmed that his new player will head to the United States. In Austin, David Almansa must face the medical commission again under Dr. Introduce Angel Charte. Once approved, he should hit the slopes on Friday with Sniper teammate Matteo Bertelle. However, the special method is not new to him. In 2023 Almansa made his debut here with the Snipers team. As a substitute for Romano Fenati, the 17-year-old got the 17th place.
