Subaru has appointed Atsushi Osaki as CEO of the car brand. He will take office in June and succeed Tamomi Nakamura, who has been CEO of the Japanese automaker since 2018.

Osaki is now senior vice president and is responsible for the production department. He will be appointed during the general meeting of shareholders scheduled for June. Nakamura will take over as chairman. Subaru reports this in a press release.

“We at Subaru want to survive the electrification era by being agile,” Osaki said at a press conference on Friday. “We will create different systems, focusing on flexibility and expansion.”

Subaru Netherlands

At the beginning of this month it was announced that deputy general manager Frank ter Braak will retire from Subaru Netherlands. Subaru Netherlands had a tough year in 2022. In total, the brand had around eighty registrations up to and including November, the lowest number ever. As a result, the importer’s branch in Aalsmeer was closed at the beginning of this year.
