New Alfa Romeo Milano: information to remember

Alfa Romeo has just launched its brand new SUV. It’s called Milano and we’ve listed the most important details for you to remember before the next test in more detail.

A first for Alfa Romeo

Big news is hidden under the hood. Alfa Romeo will be 100% electric for the first time. Nothing new, however, Milano draws from the bank of the Stellantis Group entity. So we get a 54 kWh battery that can power two engines. One with 156 hp and the other, in Veloce finish, with 240 hp. But that’s for Milano “Elettrica”. Because customers will also be able to choose the Milano “Ibrida” that uses the famous 136 horsepower MHEV 48v system that I talked to you a lot about in the previous Expresso News.

Intellectual freedom

Thanks to its 54 kWh net (51 kWh net) lithium-ion battery, this new small SUV should be able to travel up to 410 km according to the WLTP combined cycle. It will also accept charging up to 100 kW, enough to go from 20 to 80% in about thirty minutes.

A competitive market

The new Alfa Romeo Milano will arrive in a very competitive market. In France, it will have to face the much-feared Peugeot 2008 and the Renault Captur, although the latter does not yet offer a 100% electric version. With a length of 4.17 m, a width of 1.78 m and a height of 1.5 m it is in the B-SUV category, an urban or suburban SUV.

Creative design

Although it shares its underpinnings with the Peugeot 2008, Fiat 600 and Jeep Avenger (thanks to the CMP platform), it has a very different design from its cousins. But also its other partners, Stelvio and Tonale. Of course we get the famous Scudetto grille, but in two different variants. Half “Progresso” with snakes and “Leggenda” with Alfa Romeo lettering. The lighting signature is also new with 2 stages and several LED strips. Then, even if the very vertical rear end reminds me of the Tonale, we get a new black headband and boomerang tips.

The interior is rather ordinary (and that’s for the best)

Fortunately, the new Alfa Romeo Milano doesn’t play too modern on the inside with a decent-sized screen integrated into the dashboard without embellishment. Although the instrument is 100% digital, we are happy to find two tunnels that housed the so-called meters. telescope. Finally, the interior still seeks to confirm the manufacturer’s sports DNA with a little Alcantara, seat covers or even weather nozzles in the form of four leaf clover.

Some prices

For once, we already know some of the prices of this new Alfa Romeo Milano. Orders will open from 25 April 2024 for the “Special” launch editions. In hybrid this version will start from €31,000 and in 100% electric from €40,500.
