News: Nissan is renewing the Juke for the 2024 model year

The new shade of yellow is slightly lighter than that of the previous generation. The paint color gives the Juke a fresh and modern look. In the new N-Sport version, the deep black color of the roof, A and B pillars, exterior mirrors, wheels, wheel rims and grille add contrast, especially in combination with the yellow body color.

Quality and connectivity

Not only has the center console and instrument panel been redesigned, Nissan also uses new materials and upholstery, improving fit and finish. In addition, the connectivity in the car is better, a bigger touch screen and additional functions.

The first change Juke drivers will notice on the updated Juke is the larger size of the main infotainment screen (from Visia). It now measures 12.3 inches and is rotated 8 degrees towards the driver to also bring the far edge of the touchscreen within reach. This enhances the feel of the cockpit. The driver will also see a new leather-like steering wheel cover material.

Combination meter

The meter cluster, which displays the Juke’s speed and other important information, is now a 12.3-inch TFT screen. Thanks to the high screen resolution (1,920 x 720 pixels), the driver can configure the display to show information according to his preferences.

The composite meter display offers a choice of two basic layouts: the standard layout shows two dials with space between additional data. An alternative setting shows the engine speed and speed in two descending dials, which provide a three-dimensional view. This leaves more room in the middle for additional details.

With the area between the dials, the driver can choose to display navigation instructions, including a map, but also fuel consumption, audio information, tire pressure and other important information, such as how environmentally friendly the driver is driving. The display controls are on the handles.

Infotainment met widgets

The updated infotainment system includes a home screen where the user can set ‘widgets’ for functions they use often, just like a smartphone. In addition, the infotainment system offers better voice recognition and natural language understanding. The system accepts a wide range of sentences and phrases and ignores pauses and pauses in spoken commands. Wireless Android Auto is now also available, complementing existing Apple CarPlay connectivity.

Other new features include speed camera information and fuel prices, which can now be displayed on the navigation map. And the infotainment system can now play videos from USB devices when the car is stationary.

Details of the yellow interior

Matching the new yellow body color, the interior of the N-Sport edition features boomerang-shaped accents in the same yellow color. It runs through the top of the instrument panel and curves downward, where it frames the base of the main infotainment screen and ends in the air vents.

The seats in the N-Sport version continue the color theme, with yellow inserts made of recycled Alcantara. The seat and backrest are combined in a striking design, while the Juke name is placed on the backrest at shoulder height. Yellow stitching completes the effect.

The N-Connecta, N-Design and Tekna versions are also equipped with new seats. The seats in the N-Connecta are upholstered in a new fabric, Kira Melange, which has PVC and fabric accents complementing areas with wavy patterns. In the Tekna version, the seats are made of black PVC with fabric inserts and profile parts on the seat and backrest. The open headliners, finished in piano black material, give the interior a sporty feel.

Comfort

Other interior changes in all Juke models include an enlarged glove compartment, which has grown to 7.8 litres. The armrest has been redesigned and offers more support. The design is asymmetrical, which increases the reach by 25mm, without getting in the way of the cup holders. The armrest is also a cover for the storage compartment between the seats, just like on the previous Juke, but now has a clip for three (credit) cards.

All versions of the Juke are equipped with an electric armrest, which increases the space between the front seats. In the hybrid version, the e-Pedal and EV mode buttons have been relocated.

From the N-Connecta onwards, all versions have a wireless charging pad for large smartphones like the iPhone 12 Pro Max. In addition, both USB-A and USB-C connections are available on the front and back.

New body colors and rims

In addition to the new yellow color, there are more changes to the body color palette. The pearlescent white color has been replaced by a new shade that has a cleaner, whiter look and contains more metal particles for a stronger pearlescent effect. The black metallic color has also been updated and looks richer and darker. The paint is more of a soot color and the metal particles have been replaced with glass particles. This makes the black metallic color shine more than before.

There are also new rims for the top three versions of the Juke. The standard N-Connecta and N-Design rims feature an all-new five-spoke design, each with its own angular look. 17-inch rims with new anti-roll tires are available for the Juke hybrid in Acenta and N-Connecta versions.

Nissan Juke

Rijassistentietekhnologia

Lane departure warning is standard equipment in the updated Nissan Juke. Emergency Mode Backup is standard from Tekna and optional on other versions. The system monitors, among other things, the position of the Juke in the lane while driving on the highway. If the car is too close to the lane lines, the system warns the driver with a vibration in the steering wheel. If this is incorrect, the system intervenes and adjusts the vehicle’s speed to stay in line.

The resolution of the rear camera has increased from 0.3 to 1.3 megapixels. In combination with the high resolution of the central screen in the car, this ensures that the driver has a clearer view when resuming driving, even in low light conditions. A reversing camera is standard equipment on all versions. Around-View Monitor is available with versions from N-Connecta. This system combines images from four cameras around the vehicle into a bird’s eye view of the entire area around the vehicle. That’s perfect during parking maneuvers.

In the event of an emergency stop, the brake lights of the new Nissan Juke will flash to warn those behind you.

DIG-T combination

As before, the Juke offers a choice of two powertrains. The first is the Juke Hybrid, the second the Juke DIG-T. The JUKE Hybrid is an electric option and features an electric motor with a combustion engine that Nissan has developed specifically for hybrid powertrain use. The engine has 69 kW of power and 148 Nm of torque. The electric motor in the drivetrain provides 36 kW of power and 205 Nm of torque. It is powered by a 15 kW high-voltage starter/generator, powered via an inverter, and a 1.2 kWh liquid-cooled battery. The overall result is an electric powertrain that delivers around 25 percent more power than the gasoline version, with fuel consumption up to 40 percent lower in the urban cycle and up to 20 percent lower in the combined cycle.

The non-electric Juke has a standard 1.0-liter three-cylinder DIG-T turbo gasoline engine. The engine produces 86 kW and 180 Nm of torque (200 Nm in the so-called overtorque function) and is connected to a six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed DCT dual-clutch transmission. The driving mode selector (Eco, Standard, Sport) allows the driver to adjust the car settings according to the driving style in each driving mode.

Production in Sunderland

The updated Juke is already being produced at Nissan’s Sunderland (UK) plant. Nissan has built more than 1.3 million copies there since the introduction of the first Juke in 2010. The car runs next to the Qashqai on the second production line of the assembly line.
