Not a Porsche, but a GT4-badged Nissan Z

Nissan puts the GT4 label on the Nissan Z. It means something completely different in this case Porsche meaning with this word.

The Porsche Cayman GT4 RS is probably the best car of 2022. The two-seater can be enjoyed on the circuit and on the public road.

Nissan Z GT4, non-Dutch track party

The Nissan Z GT4 is not. Not because the Japanese aren’t fun to drive – after all, we’d like to see a model in the Netherlands – but because this Z can only be driven on a circuit.

European lovers of Nissan sports models have a hard time. The regular Nissan Z – which you are allowed on public roads – is not available here. Under the hood of this model is a 3.0-liter V6 with two turbochargers. This power source produces 400 hp. This power is sent to the differential between the rear wheels via a six-speed manual or a nine-speed automatic transmission.

The Nissan Z GT4 is a product of Nismo

Whether the GT4 version, taken over by the Nissan Motorsport (NISMO) division, offers more power is still unknown. The Japanese have not released anything about the technical details yet. Of course it’s linked to the original power source – even if it’s just by tuning the ECU.

As you’d expect from Nissan Motorsport (Nismo), the chassis and suspension have been upgraded. For example, the spoiler has been added with various lips and air scoops contribute to improving aerodynamics and handling.

Delivery in the first half of 2023

More details of the Nissan Z GT4 will be announced at the SEMA motor show in the US (November 1-4). Deliveries of the cars will begin in the first half of 2023.
