Demarchi one step from the stage of Vallelunga

A brilliant first season for the driver from Trini

VERCELLI – Making his season debut Luca Demarchi closed the first round of the Alfa Revival Cup at the “Piero Taruffi” circuit in Vallelunga with the best fifth place, a few seconds from the podium.

The Alfa Revival Cup is an ACI Sport calendar championship dedicated to Alfa Romeo GT and Turismo cars built between 1947 and 1981. The format includes: 25′ free practice session, 1 30′ qualifying session, 1 60 race ‘.

The driver, driving a 1970 Alfa Romeo GT AM Jolly Car, was making his debut in this type of competition where he performed admirably. After closing the qualifying sessions, marked by a carburettor problem solved immediately by the team, as a top seven time, Demarchi soon reached third place in the race.

Then, due to the loss of engine power, he dropped to fifth. Slowed by the rain and the safety car, he did not have time to follow those in front of him, even though he was faster than them.

The second round of the Alfa Revival Cup will take place from 7 to 9 June at the Red Bull Ring in Austria.
