Newspaper ad that went viral when the 1967 Chevrolet Nova was new said, “Up with good looks, down with a high price. A stylish economy car.” I got a kick out of some of the verbs in the paragraphs below. “Everything about this ’67 Chevy II is tough and solid to keep the handling down.” The ad discusses the car’s innovative electrical system, Magic-Mirror lacquer finish, long-lasting exhaust system, and advanced safety technology at the time (four-way headlights!).

“This 1967 Nova SS it’s a real restored car,” the seller says. “It was restored using original stock, original restoration, new vintage, GM licensed production, or made in America parts whenever possible. If you want to reminisce or experience the 60s, this is the car for you.

From its inception, Chevrolet marketed the Nova (or rather, the Chevy II before the Nova nameplate took center stage) as a basic value offering that didn’t compromise on looks or performance. The car was built on the General Motors X body platform. The second generation was launched in 1966 which brought revisions to the front and rear fascias – vertical rear lights were a unique design characteristic at the time. Today’s turquoise 1967 model is a great example of a car that was restored inside and out.

Curb appeal is enhanced via a set of five 15-inch chrome wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A 225/70 off-white lettering tires. For those who demand the ultimate in quality, a set of genuine steel wheels with four Super Sport spinner covers are included in the offer.

Up front, speed comes a 327cid Turbo-Fire small block V8 mated to a three-speed Turbo Hydramatic 350 displacement automatic transmission. “It has a 275 horsepower engine, with an improved hydraulic camshaft,” the seller says. “It hasn’t been dyno tested, but I would expect horsepower to be in the 300 range.”

Chevrolet ad for ’67 Nova he says, “Cool. Reliable.
