It is a 2-liter unit that makes the heart of every car fan beat faster. The sound alone sends a vibration through your body as you step on the gas. This is proof of the advantage of combustion cars over electric cars – even if they are very fast, they will never sound like a real car, petrol or diesel.

I turn on the Cupra mode (it accelerates the engine’s response to gas, the steering works with greater resistance, and the DSG gearbox changes gears more efficiently), and therefore I immediately enter the maximum activation level. When you press the gas pedal fully, the bass sound completes the electric acceleration.

The car emits so much power that it is difficult for passengers to prevent their backs from pressing against the rear seats. Another thing is that I didn’t try to fight this loading at all, because it’s a good feeling.

Besides, I know I’d be a loser anyway. Suffice it to say that breaking air ends and reaches 100 km / h after an impressive 4.9 seconds, and acceleration ends only at 250 km / h.

The powerful engine is not the only aspect of the Cupra Formentor VZ that affects driving pleasure. Another advantage of the car is the suspension, which makes navigating every corner an opportunity, not a challenge.

I enter a section of repeated curves, and the car obediently follows the commands given by the driver using the correct steering system and follows each curve perfectly. When driving like this, it feels like the Cupra Formentor VZ was defying the laws of physics, because despite them, the body doesn’t lean excessively.

The standard all-wheel drive helps in overcoming the natural forces. Of course, its use is not intended to make the Cupra Formentor VZ an off-road car (despite suggestions such as increased ground clearance or plastic covers on the wheel arches), but to improve traction during a strong start or driving at high speed .

Therefore, even when the full power of the engine is used, the wheels do not tend to spin without support in place. Importantly, this was also removed when driving on wet surfaces.

During the test, I realized that the stylish body style is not only pleasant to look at when standing, but also when driving. When I got behind the wheel, I immediately noticed a large hood. It is in this way that you can observe the condition of the road, and the size of the engine cover increases the power it hides.

That’s not to say I didn’t appreciate the interior design of the Cupra Formentor VZ’s passenger compartment. Its many sporting characteristics did not allow me to forget for a moment what kind of car I was dealing with.

The steering wheel with an optimized profile fits perfectly in your hands, and the seats offer adequate lateral support when driving hard through curves. In addition, there are quality finishing materials and clear, digital indicators.

Unfortunately, not everything turns out to be so refined. Devices that operate on the board through the touch screen take most of the driver’s attention. He has to get used to the complicated menu and the fact that it takes a long time to access some features. It is true that some of them are activated using buttons on the steering wheel, but this only improves the situation a little.

Cupra Formentor VZ is not a car where family options come first, but you can be sure about the amount of space in the interior. There is enough space in both rows of seats, at knee level and overhead.

The traveling family will also appreciate the trunk with a capacity of 450-1475 liters for easy storage of holiday equipment not only because of the size of the trunk, but also for its regular shape.

You can save a little if you choose the Cupra Formentor VZ, which costs PLN 201,100, with a 245 HP gasoline engine. The Cupra Formentor VZ is an exceptionally successful car from the young Spanish brand. Not only does it allow for dynamic driving, but also due to its style, it gives the feeling of being in motion even when stationary. Another advantage is that, like a full-fledged electric Cupra, it is an original Cupra. The remaining models are derivatives of Viti – the brand from which Cupra comes.
