The new Lexus LBX is the brand’s first in the compact SUV segment. A few weeks before its arrival in the trade, we evaluate the range of 2024.

Lexus continues to expand its offering in the lower segments. After the launch of the Lexus UX, the Japanese brand is moving a little closer to European customers with the new Lexus LBX, its first compact hybrid SUV. A design designed for the city that nevertheless does not turn its back on the brand’s lofty ambitions.

136 horsepower under the hood

The Lexus LBX is powered by a new generation of the brand’s “self-charging” hybrid system. Inherited from the Toyota Yaris Cross, it is based on a 1.5-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine mated to an electric motor and a Ni-Mh battery. In total, the unit develops 136 horsepower with a maximum torque of 185 Nm.

Everyone has their own atmosphere

If most manufacturers tend to reduce their ranges, Lexus follows the opposite path by increasing the number of fines. In addition to the basic version, the manufacturer offers four different “spaces”, each offering special equipment and new finishes.

When the sky “elegant” and “Rest” consider improvement, offerings “Feelings” and “Cold” pass thanks to the sports profile and more power especially with the configuration of four-wheel drive. For profit, two fines “Business” are also in the program. Different versions allow each driver to find a configuration that suits their needs and lifestyle.

The new Lexus LBX is available from €34,300. Better equipped, the Business editions rise to €37,000, while the variants will be offered between €37,800 and €45,000. This range of different prices allows each driver to find the configuration that best suits their needs and lifestyle.

Priced at €34,300 in its base version, the new Lexus LBX starts from €35,200 in the Business version. On top of the basket, we find the Cool version, priced from €42,800 in its two-wheeled version.
