The South Korean automaker is discontinuing the N versions of the i30 and i20 series. In the future, there will be sports branches only for electric models. But they play in a different league, especially for the price.
Hyundai will stop offering its sports N models with combustion engines for the European market in the first half of 2024. This means that the i20 N, i30 N and i30 Fastback N models will be phased out by the end of the year at the latest. A Hyundai spokesperson confirmed the corresponding media reports at the request of “kfz-betrieb”.

So Hyundai is following through on its promise to provide European customers with zero-emissions products by 2035. The South Korean automaker wants to be completely CO2-free in all phases of vehicle production and operation by 2045.
German customers who still want an N combustion engine should act fast. Until now, the series can still be configured and ordered. Hyundai wants to sell inventory in stores by the end of the year.
N variants will then be available for electric models only. Hyundai started selling the Ioniq 5 N at the end of 2023. Hyundai has not yet officially confirmed that the Ioniq 6 sedan will also get a sports hatch. However, the media reports that such a variant may come to the market next year.
The i20 N is available from German Hyundai dealers from 25,660 euros, the i30 N starts at 33,650 euros. The Ioniq 5 N, on the other hand, moves in a completely different direction. 74,900 euros are suitable for an electric sports car. But at 448 kW/609 hp it also offers almost three times more power than the i20 N and more than twice as much as the i30 N.
