Schedule: Austin GP 2024 in the evening program / MotoGP

In the “Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas” many eyes are on Marc Márquez (Gresini Ducati). Will Austin’s record champion be able to celebrate his first win since Misano 2021? event in perspective.

This weekend the World Motorcycle Championship will be held at the “Circuit of the Americas” for the eleventh time. The 5.513 km long track, built to the designs of famous F1 architect Hermann Tilke, runs counter-clockwise. “COTA” extends over a height difference of about 41 m and eleven bends to the left and nine to the right are 1200 m.

By far the most successful MotoGP rider in Austin is Marc Márquez. The Spaniard has won here seven times since 2013. This streak was interrupted in 2019 when Márquez crashed in the lead, handing the win to Alex Rins. Rins won again in Márquez’s absence in 2023. The only Ducati rider to have won in Texas so far is rider Enea Bastianini. The Italian won the race in 2022.

For Marc Márquez, this year’s Austin GP could be a turning point. For the first time since his last MotoGP victory in Misano in 2021, the eight-time world champion is back in competitive gear. With the win, the 31-year-old would end a 2.5-year losing streak.

To follow the US concert, fans in Germany, Austria and Switzerland have to explore the seven-hour time difference in Central Europe. This makes the Texas GP an interesting evening program. The MotoGP race will take place on Saturday at 10pm CEST, with the Grand Prix race starting on Sunday at 9pm.
