It’s not just a “shell” put on a Corvette and built just for racing. The latest GT3.R is based on an aluminum chassis straight from the road design. It’s the same with the engine. Chevrolet announces that 70% of the components are shared with the factory ‘Vette Z06. The 5.5 liter engine develops unknown power. Definitely less than 600 hp, which is due to the restrictions imposed by IMSA regulations. And that means it’s a bit cramped in relation to the range. There is an amount of 680 hp, and the red field starts at 8,400 rpm. So it seems that the production version is a civilized “racer”, but with more power.

The Corvette Z06 GT3.R will appear not only under the Chevrolet banner. The car will go to individual teams, where he will have regular support (also on the track) from Corvette Racing. All in terms of parts and the human knowledge of race engineers.
