Bestsellers in the compact class: the Opel Astra Sports Tourer plug-in hybrid

The Opel Astra is a real eye-catcher, both in the five-door sedan and in the station wagon variant Opel Astra Sports Tourer. It is therefore no coincidence that the latest generation of the Compact class bestseller from Rüsselsheim was awarded the “Golden Steering Wheel 2022”” and, as it is also a sporty and stylish station wagon, which was voted “FAMILY CAR of the Year 2022”. This car combines a clean and bold design, enhanced by the characteristic Opel Vizor at the front, and top- technologies range , from Intelli-Lux LED^® Adaptive and flicker-free Pixel Light with Intelli-Drive assist system. Additionally, the latest generation Opel Astra Sports Tourer is being offered with electric power for the first time. It can be driven with zero local emissions thanks to the plug-in hybrid engine, with a system output of 133 kW/180 HP and a maximum torque of 360 Nm (fuel consumption WLTP: 1.11.0 l/100 km , CO emissions.₂ equal to 2523 g/km). All this ensures responsible driving pleasure: thanks to the 12.4 kWh lithium-ion battery, this plug-in hybrid model can travel up to 66 km with zero domestic emissions in the WLTP cycle (the same range as the City of EAER in full electric – in WLTP cycle⁴: 72-76km). And for long trips on holiday, with suitcases and sports equipment, this electric station wagon offers space from 516 to 1,553 liters in the trunk, which can be easily loaded through the tailgate that opens and closes automatically with a simple gesture of one leg (optional feature).

For those looking for a more flexible ride, there is a higher version Opel Astra Sports Tourer GSe. The station wagon “Grand Sport electric” delivers an outstanding output of 165 kW/225 hp (fuel consumption in the WLTP cycle³: 1.2-1.1 l/100 km, CO emissions₂ equal to 26-25 g/km; both data together). All the excitement of the propulsion system is enclosed in a chassis lowered by 10 millimeters with special KONI FSD (Frequency Selective Damping) technology. New Opel Astra Sports Tourer Electric will arrive on sale later this year, making it the first electric station wagon from the German manufacturer.

Multi-world space that overcomes all challenges: The life of the Opel Combo-e

Even of The life of the Opel Combo‑e it offers many useful features for the family. It can be ordered at a starting price of 36,205 euros (turnkey in Italy, excluding IPT). Zero internal emissions, very flexible and very quiet: it is a true hero of everyday life. With an output of 100 kW/136 hp and a maximum torque of 260 Nm, the Combo-e Life is ideal for getting around town while shopping, as well as for long-distance driving. With its 50 kWh lithium-ion battery, this electric car has a range of up to 285 km when driving as prescribed in the WLTP cycle.⁴. The battery can be charged up to 80% in about 32 minutes at a public charging station with 100 kW of direct current. The Opel Combo-e Life is standard with a 22 kW three-phase on-board charger in Italy.

Taking advantage of the wide range of Opel Combo-e Life is as easy as recharging it. Most of the space provides access through two sliding doors and is available in the standard (4.40 meters) or XL (4.75 meters) version, for five people or – in the special variant – seven people. The standard version already offers a minimum volume of 597 liters, while the Opel Combo-e Life XL with a longer wheelbase comes with a minimum boot volume of 850 liters.⁵. With the rear seats folded, this versatile powerhouse has a capacity of up to 2,126 liters in the standard version and 2,693 litres.⁶ and a long wheel. The battery is placed under the floor of the car to save space: so the passengers do not have to give up the high comfort. Residents can also enjoy “heavenly” views thanks to the paneled roof and electric sunroof. In addition, the optional IntelliGrip adaptive traction system ensures excellent traction and stable handling in snow, mud or sand. These features make the Opel Combo-e Life the perfect solution for those who want an emission-free vehicle capable of overcoming any challenge. The perfect car for going shopping, organizing a getaway or going on vacation with the whole family.

The convenience of the “e-lounge on wheels”: Opel Zafira-e Life

There The life of the Opel Zafira-e promises to provide an enjoyable travel experience with all the space you need. This small battery electric car combines all the power of a “living room on wheels” with electricity, emits no indoor air pollution and a quiet driving experience. Additionally, most versions of the Zafira e-Life are suitable for multi-storey car parks with a height of 1.90 metres.

The 4.95 meter Opel Zafira-e Life “M” variant, available from €52,000, and the 5.30 meter Opel Zafira-e Life “L” variant offer plenty of space for up to eight people. Both alternatives ensure excellent handling and are fitted as standard with two sensor-controlled sliding doors that can be opened electrically from the outside, with a foot movement towards the vehicle. This Opel-branded minivan also has a large rear door that ensures easy access to the cargo area: in the Opel Zafira-e Life L, its length reaches up to 2.76 m, with a maximum load of 4.9 m.³ equal to 4,900 liters. The folding back of the front passenger seat allows the transport of goods and sports equipment, up to a maximum height of 3.50 meters.

The comfort of the whole family is the first priority of the Opel Zafira-e Life: parents can relax thanks to the leather front seats that can be easily and conveniently moved via aluminum rails. Configurations with six, seven or eight leather seats are available. The front seats are equipped with heating and massage functions. In the six-seat configuration there are four leather rear seats with movable armrests, each with a seat width of 48 cm. The optional panoramic glass roof provides an unobstructed view upwards, creating a greater sense of space.

With an output of 100 kW/136 hp and a maximum torque of 260 Nm, the Zafira-e Life electric car also proves to be suitable for everyday use. Customers can choose between two Li-ion batteries of different capacities. Depending on the requirements, the 75 kWh battery is available for a range of up to 322 km and the 50 kWh battery up to 224 km when driving according to the WLTP cycle.⁴. The batteries, placed under the floor to save space, lower the car’s center of gravity, thus improving driving performance. This feature will be appreciated especially when cornering, but also in windy conditions, for more pleasant rides. The modern regenerative braking system, which allows the Opel Zafira e-Life to recover energy when decelerating, makes this small electric car even more efficient.
