The Jeep Avenger sets itself apart; it gets four-wheel drive

Jeep Avenger, unless you’ve been under a rock, you’ve heard of it. Last year it was even chosen as the Best Car of the Year. One of its USPs was the fact that it would only be available as an electric car for our market, but that changed soon. A Jeep should definitely have four-wheel drive. Once again the drives are repaired.

New operation

As mentioned earlier, the Jeep Avenger was introduced as an EV, and a hybrid and gasoline alternative was added shortly after. These drives had a 1.2 three-cylinder engine that delivered 100 hp to the wheels, and the mild hybrid also received a supporting electric motor. At the same time, they have improved this engine somewhat and managed to squeeze 136 hp from the 1.2. The same petrol engine is also used in the new Jeep Avenger 4xe (pronounced four for E) and is supported by an electric motor on each axle. The mild hybrids are always powered by a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. This gives the Avenger all-wheel drive and sets it apart from its Stellantis cousins. The Peugeot 2008, Opel Mokka and DS 3 have front-wheel drive only. Next time Alfa Romeo Milan It looks like it will also have all-wheel drive, but the Italians have yet to deliver. Avenger has now become a real Jeep, we are curious to see what the sales figures will do in our rural country.

4x

The 4xe designation of Jeeps was previously reserved for plug-ins with four-wheel drive, the new Jeep Avenger 4xe does not have four-wheel drive, but it is not a plug-in. No problem of course, but it can cause confusion.

It is not yet known how much the new Jeep Avenger 4xe will cost, but they will tell us before the end of the year.
