The Kia Seltos (2023) makes its North American facelift debut

( – What the Kia XCeed is to us Europeans, the Kia Seltos is on the other side of the Atlantic. At least in terms of size. But from the beginning: In November 2019, Kia expanded its SUV lineup with the North American debut of this model at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Sales then began in the first quarter of 2020. And Seltos has already received a comprehensive update – especially in the interior.

Kia Seltos (2023) Facelift

Let’s start with the exterior: Here the facelifted Seltos comes with new headlights with LED daytime running lights and subtly updated fog lights. Kia has also changed the appearance of the front skid plate, with the mesh grille now looking slightly larger after moving the silver strip down from the center.

A light bar has been added at the back to give the car a wider image, while the taillights themselves have sharper definition. The red reflectors have been moved to the plastic wall of the bumper. It’s done.

Inside, the Selto’s dashboard has been completely redesigned to accommodate two 10.25-inch screens side by side.

The clunky switch is now a thing of the past, as it has been replaced by a rotary switch, which is still closed with several buttons. Kia has also changed the air conditioning controls, but we’re actually glad they’re still there and haven’t been swallowed up by the infotainment.

Examples for Europe:

Kia Sportage: Now also available as a full hybrid
Kia Niro (2022): That costs a new version

In typical Hyundai/Kia/Genesis fashion, the reveal is all about visual changes. Full specifications won’t be announced until next month when the Selto is unveiled at the Busan Auto Show in South Korea. As before, the model will not come to Europe, where Kia has placed the same-sized XCeed and already mentioned above the smaller Stonic. It’s a shame, isn’t it?
