The New Dutch EV is a cheap and light roadster

This new Carice TC2 is a Dutch-made electric car with Spyker and Porsche features for less money. Its very low weight gives hope that it is also a good driving EV.

When we say Dutch sports car, you immediately think of Spyker or the new DeBruyn. The only used Spyker car in the Netherlands costs a lot of money and you also pay more than €600,000 for a DeBruyn Ferox V8. This Carice TC2, on the other hand, is cheap.

A cheap electric car from the Netherlands

We still wouldn’t call the EV cheap, but the new price of 53,854 euros is more manageable than the price tags hanging from the sports cars mentioned above.

Small price for a very small car. Carice TC2 is 3.54 meters long, 1.58 meters wide and 1.22 meters high. The design inspiration for this electric car seems to have been taken from classic Porsches and the interior reminds us of our countryman’s Spyker.

EV van 590 kg

Its compact size ensures a low empty weight of only 590 kg. That along with its rear-wheel drive looks like the recipe for a good driving car.

Its peak power of 54 hp is nothing to sneeze at. Even with its low weight, it seems disappointing for a two-seater with sporty aspirations.

Variety of Carice TC2

Unfortunately, the range of this electric car is not great because of its low weight and low power. With its 31.5 kWh battery pack, the Carice TC2 can travel approximately 300 km. Standard Rowthe version of this EV with a small battery only reaches 200 km on a charge. Perhaps the driving characteristics play a big role, but it is certain that with this range it will be a while before I get to the twisty mountain roads to test it.

It’s easy to forget that you can buy the newly upgraded Tesla Model 3, more powerful and more than 200 km of range in just over ten. They are two electric vehicles that serve different purposes.
