Chevrolet’s 2025 Corvette Has Color Updates for Boring New Cars

Chevrolet is introducing three new colors for its 2025 model: Competition Yellow, Sebring Orange, and – perhaps the most anticipated color – Hysteria, which is a heavy metallic purple. One year after the Corvette’s 70th anniversary, Chevy is celebrating the brand with a look back at Corvette’s storied history and some of the names and colors it has chosen for 2025.

The name “Competition Yellow” was previously used on fourth-generation Corvettes in the 1980s and ’90s, although this new version is not quite the same color, and has a tintcoat look. Similarly, Sebring Orange is not only a returning name, but also a returning color, having been (recently) replaced by a slightly metallic shade called “Amplifier Orange.” Many Vette fans were hoping for the return of the popular color, which was available on models that include the beloved 2019 ZR1.

It is likely that with these new color options, some of the current ones offered by Chevrolet will be discontinued. Although the automaker has yet to confirm what those will be, the two colors that could be on the cutting edge are Amplify Orange and Accelerate Yellow, as they will be very similar to the new option.

These exterior colors aren’t the only colors set to change with the 2025 Corvette. The car’s Edge Yellow brake calipers will also be slightly modified to Speed Yellow to better match the updated Racing Yellow option. New interior options include a Habanero interior with blue stitching that can be paired with a black interior. Additionally, the 10-spoke Z06 wheels will have four finish options: Pearl Nickel, Gloss Black, Polished, and Bright Bright with Carbon Flash Bags.

E-Ray is here to stay

The 2025 lineup of Corvettes that will use these new colors include the return of the track-focused Z06, the Stingray, and the E-Ray hybrid, which debuted last year as the first-ever all-wheel-drive Corvette. Corvette’s take on an EV had been anticipated for years, and was introduced as part of the brand’s 70th anniversary celebration. It is clear that the 2025 E-Ray will be launched as EVs continue to become more popular in the US and around the world.

Not much is known yet about the next-generation car’s specs, but it will likely live up to — if not upgrade to — the 2024 E-Ray, which was powered by a 495 horsepower 6.2-liter LT2 Small Block V-8 engine and a 10-horsepower electric motor. 160 – which together can produce 895 foot-pounds of combined torque. The E-Ray can go 0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds, and travel the quarter mile in 10.5 seconds.

While Chevrolet has many stylish options for its upcoming vehicles such as the new Tahoe or Suburban, these colors mentioned above are exclusive to the 2025 Corvette.
