Travis Pastrana better than Ken Block? Discover his new Gymkhana in an 865 horsepower Subaru

Were you disappointed by Ken Block’s Electrikhana with an electric Audi? Rest assured, the new gymkhana developed by Travis Pastrana and his girlfriend Hoonigan to give you back the banana.

The inventor of the double rear in motocross, turned rallycross and hillclimb pilot, is following in the footsteps of the king of the gymkhana. Already, in December 2020, his video with the Subaru Impreza WRX STI of rallycross through the American countryside was sensational. Two years later, he does it again, with a touch of the past, in a Florida setting.

Indeed, the Subaru WRX is being replaced by the 1983 Subaru GL station wagon, dubbed the Family Huckster. The ingenious Subaru has been extensively modified by the Vermont SportsCar team to include an all-wheel drive system and a 6-speed sequential gearbox to send an insane 865 horsepower to all four wheels. The engine is taken from the rallycross Nitro RX Supercar, which is mated to a Garrett turbo.

Movable aerodynamic attachments are added to the car’s sides and rear. The body is made from carbon fiber. The exhaust is also located at the front of the car. Beneath its aggressive clothing, there is a tubular chassis inspired by WRC 2022 regulations.

“Travis Pastrana is crazy, and that makes him the perfect driver to take these movies to another level, Brian Scotto, Hoonigan’s co-founder, said in a statement. Travis took a big step forward for this film, greatly improving his driving style and steering abilities. But what sets Gymkhana 2022 apart is Travis’ approach, which created unforgettable hot moments! »

The video is impressive, with several incredible jumps, which showed Subaru’s little habit of nose diving in the air! The original suspension travel provided by Reiger at 300mm was not too much…
