Lorenzo vs Pedrosa boxing match: Here’s what the pad/MotoGP predicts

With his challenge against KTM MotoGP test rider Dani Pedrosa, MotoGP retiree Jorge Lorenzo is causing a stir on social platforms and exciting entertainment among acres of paddock.

Five-time world champion Jorge Lorenzo (36) has repeatedly appeared in boxing training in the past few days. Professional racing driver Lorenzo wants to regain his fitness. Now he caused a stir among his former MotoGP colleagues by challenging Dani Pedrosa (38). Together, the two Spaniards had 122 GP wins, but they also had a few fights. In 2008, King Juan Carlos even tried to arrange a handshake between the two aces in Jerez.

Lorenzo told Dani Pedrosa: “Now boxing is a very interesting celebrity event, I challenge Dani Pedrosa to a fight – at the Grand Price Club in Barcelona.” Pedrosa initially said cautiously: “I think Jorge will be here this weekend, so you can ask him what he is planning.”

Pedrosa has now responded specifically to Lorenzo’s offer and accepted the challenge. Dani also told JL99: “I found out about the offer when I was on my way to Jerez. I’m in a good mood and I won’t deny trying to give him a few punches. So I accept the challenge!” The fight will be broadcast on Lorenzo’s YouTube channel.

The offer quickly made the rounds at the Jerez stadium. Many aces commented, sometimes jokingly, on this possible fight between the Spanish giants. Joan Mir explained: “Honestly – it saved the day Jack Miller pretended to be scared: “How can Lorenzo box against Dani – Dani is 1.50 tall. We have to find someone else.”

Miguel Oliveira said: “I see that Lorenzo is not in good shape at the moment. My cousin is 14 years old – I think he can beat Jorge too. I bet on Dani.”
Marc Márquez couldn’t contain his laughter: “I saw that on social networks – I’m putting my money on Lorenzo.” MotoGP rookie Pedro Acosta is different: “I think Dani will put on a great show! I think he can surprise anyone – even in the ring! When he gets everything out of him, he’s a rocket.”

Aleix Espargaro laughed: “I’m curious about Dani. Everyone thinks Dani is too young – but I’m putting my money on Dani.” MotoGP World Championship leader Jorge Martin went further: “I would help the referees and then go on the ring. I think it will be very interesting.”
“Lorenzo has more reach – but not much,” Brad Binder chuckled. The truth is: In Spain everyone is only talking about the duel #99 against #26.
