Warming up: Vinales, Bastianini and Iannone at Misano / MotoGP

While the VR46 squad held a practice session at Mugello during the week, Maverick Vinales and Enea Bastianini along with top cyclist “Crazy Joe” Iannone also held a private practice session at Misano.

Due to the unexpected long break after the Portuguese Grand Prix and the following show in Austin on April 13, the VR46 Academy practiced in Mugello during the week, including the icon Valentino Rossi. But other aces also trained on motocross or superbike, including Maverick Vinales, Enea Bastianini and Andrea Iannone.

The trio spent the break for a track day in Misano at the “Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli” in preparation for the Italian Superbike Championship. Maverick Vinales (29), is also a driving instructor for some Aprilia riders such as Samuele Cavalieri and Luca Bernadi in the Italian CIV Championship, who participated in Misano this weekend. After his laps on the Aprilia RSV4, Vinales gave his brand colleagues important information.

“You need a bit of time on the RSV4 until you reach the limit, but then the bike gives you a good feeling – definitely comparable to a MotoGP bike,” reported Vinales. Enea Bastianini (26) was also on track with Vinales in Misano Adriatico. Ducati factory rider’s MotoGP teammate and world champion Francesco Bagnaia had home advantage on the Adriatic from Rimini and saddled up the Panigale superbike for a private practice session.

The infernal trio was completed by a former MotoGP player. Andrea Iannone (34) from the GoEleven Ducati Superbike team also took advantage of the opportunity on the Adriatic. Like Bastianini, Iannone is advised on contract matters by friend and management veteran Carlo Pernat. The return of racing to the first division is not currently being discussed, but it has not been ruled out either.
