The new Cupra Formentor and Leon are ready to shine

The presentation of the new Cupra Formentor and Cupra Leon is scheduled for April 29 at 9 p.m. This modification will allow these two types to remain in the race.

The first look of the facelifted Formentor and Leon has been released. They only reveal the adoption of new taillights, but we expect the innovations to be more significant, especially inside these models. Several engines will be offered, with or without a hybrid, but Cupra has yet to reveal them clearly.

New Cupra Leon & Formentor : save the date

After months of waiting, fans of Spanish sports cars can finally mark their calendars: presentation of information Cupra Formentor and Cupra Leon is scheduled for April 29. Although no official images have been leaked, the first glimpse of hidden designs gives way to a teaser that ultimately doesn’t reveal much. So the doubt is at its peak after the publication of these two pictures, showing the back of the two examples. These photos show the adoption of new taillights that go through the tailgate, and that’s it! On this occasion, Cupra issued a press release that, unfortunately, is very discreet about details. Too bad, because we know that the main development will be aesthetic, with a new stylistic language that brings subtle but important changes to the exterior.
Note that this modification applies to the Formentor and the Leon in its compact and ST-badged station wagon versions. As we wait for the curtain to fall, we must be patient.

What to expect?

Under the hood, there will be no shortage of new features. Next-generation eHybrid electric motors feature. Plug-in engines, such as the TSI 1.5 associated with an electric motor, will provide power ranging from 204 to 272 horsepower, with an electric range estimated at around 100 kilometers according to the WLTP cycle. Apart from the hybrid variants, we can expect small hybrid petrol engines as well as a 150 horsepower diesel engine. The icing on the cake could be the 2.0 turbo petrol engine with over 300 horsepower associated with all-wheel drive.
Inside, the renovation promises to be just as exciting, with digital upgrades that will mark the era of the new Cupra Formentor and Cupra Leon. The arrival of the new MIB4 infotainment system, which is already present in the latest models of the Volkswagen group, is accompanied by the introduction of a slightly larger screen, thus providing a more immersive driving experience.
