Alonso explains why Stroll is more important to Aston Martin’s success than himself

Fernando Alonso believes Lance Stroll’s opinion is very important to the Aston Martin team, because the Canadian says he cares more about certain things than the two-time world champion.

Fernando Alonso is in his second season at Aston Martin, and it is clear that the 42-year-old veteran has the ability to beat his teammate. After five races, Alonso is in eighth place with 33 points, while Stroll has to settle for tenth place with nine points. However, according to him, Alonso is not a big man inside Aston Martin, and Stroll’s opinion is very important, because he has a better sense of certain things.

“Lance and I try to help the team as much as we can,” he said. “I think in some situations we have different driving styles. We have two different ways with the car. Lance cares a lot more about things than I do, and I think that is very important for the team. The analysis that Lance can do and the Opinions that he can give are important for us and for of improving the car I care less about certain things, and that is not a good thing.

The two-time world champion continued: “We all try to help Aston Martin as much as we can, and the way we build the car and try to complete the set-up at the weekend is exactly the same.
