VEENENDAAL The police chase ended in Wijenburg on Wednesday evening in Rondweg West in Veenendaal. The suspect in a Maserati with a German license plate crashed head-on into an oncoming car.

The driver who collided with the suspect was injured and had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance. The suspect in the Maserati fled on foot after the crash. He did not get far, because he was arrested a little later in the forest area with the help of a police helicopter. The man was eventually taken to the hospital in handcuffs.

Police were on site with multiple units, including dog handlers and an arrest team. Officers saw the man in a car around 8:20 p.m. After running a stop sign, the man appeared to follow, but took off like a rabbit.
