Demand for EVs is much lower than predicted, Ford admitted not too long ago. Does that mean more people are putting the 5.0 liter V8 engine in their project cars? Maybe. Ford Performance now offers the fourth generation of the ‘Coyote’ engine in crates. The engine is based on the Mustang GT version.

The eight-cylinder produces approximately 486 hp and 563 Nm. This makes the eight cylinder 40 hp more powerful than the Mustang. In the car, the drive motor guarantees a top speed of 250 km/h and a 0-100 time of 5.3 seconds. The Coyote is nowhere near the more powerful Mustang V8. This is in the GTD in which the 5.0 liter engine should produce 800 hp. The V8 that you can order now will also lose 507 hp Dark Horse.

The 32-valve eight-cylinder has direct and indirect injection. Indirect injection is used at low speeds, direct injection when more demands are placed on the engine. There are also two-stroke bodies, but you can also order a version with only one throttle body. The engine then produces 20 hp less, but the torque increases to 569 Nm.

How much does a Ford Mustang V8 crate engine cost?

You can order the 5.0-liter ‘Coyote’ V8 with an automatic or manual gearbox. In both cases he asks Ford Performance for 11,500 dollars, which is approximately 10,700 euros. That includes shipping within the United States. If you want a motorcycle here, you still have to arrange shipping and customs clearance. Ford will start offering the crate engine in June this year. You can also order the electric motor from the Mustang Mach-e, packed in a crate. It costs more than 3,000 euros
