1982 Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit Down on Bourbon Street

Our last few Down on the Street cars were shot in the Mile High City, where I live, but today we’re heading south to New Orleans’ French Quarter, where I saw a beautiful 42-year-old Rolls-Royce a few weeks back. It’s time to play Champion Jack Dupree or maybe some of Professor Longhair and admire this beautiful Louisiana machine.

I was in New Orleans to work as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of 24 Hours of Lemonade for Cain’t Git Bayou race in NOLA Sports Park. One of the best entries there is a Jaguar XJS with a Ford 5.4 Triton conversion and a classic Mad Max theme (which included references to Gulag punishment from Beyond Thunder) That was an interesting British machine, to be sure, but no Roller.

Bourbon Street can be a bad place for cars, but this Rolls has such a commanding presence that I suspect even a drunken incompetent would find a way to move a few more steps to the Titan before returning his dozen. Hand grenades.
