2025 Acura MDX debuts with revised looks, technology | Car News


Acura Canada today announced a significant update to the 2025 MDX. This update to the luxury mid-size SUV includes exterior design updates and interior improvements, as well as technological revisions including a new 12.3-inch interface that integrates Google .

Acura also promises a quieter interior, improved safety and introduces a luxury Bang & Olufsen sound system for the top-of-the-line model.

The 2025 Type S Ultra also includes the AcuraWatch 360 system, which offers the most advanced driver assistance technology thanks to additional radars, a high-definition front camera and a new millimeter wave radar up front.

All MDX models benefit from the updated AcuraWatch package for enhanced safety functionality.

2025 Acura MDX – What’s New?

External design: The front of the MDX has been given a frameless pentagonal grille for a sharper look, which is further enhanced by darkened headlights and taillights, and new wheel designs.

A technology-enhanced interior: The interior has been significantly updated, with the introduction of a new 12.3-inch touchscreen interface featuring Google. At the same time, the touchpad under the console has been removed, which will please many users frustrated with a system that was not suitable for life on Canadian roads, let’s put it that way.

Excellent sound performance: The audio experience is enhanced on all models, with the MDX Type S Ultra featuring Acura’s most powerful sound system, developed by Bang & Olufsen and featuring 31 speakers.

Enhanced security: MDX Type S Ultra introduces the AcuraWatch 360 system, which marks a change in driver assistance with a new radar and high-definition front camera.

A new variant: The range welcomes the MDX Platinum Elite A-Spec model, which combines sporty styling with premium equipment. This includes 16-way front seats, a head-up display, side cameras and enhanced insulation, as well as leather-trimmed front seats.

Finally, two new paint colors will be available for the first time on the MDX, namely Canyon Blue River Metallic and Urban Gray Pearl, which was introduced for the 2024 TLX.

2025 Acura MDX Type S – What’s New?

The MDX S model retains the turbocharged V6 engine (355 hp, 354 lb-ft of torque) and the sedan’s black 21-inch split wheels. The S model also features a unique rear diffuser, large tailpipe with four tails and red Brembo 4-piston calipers in front of the brakes.

The S Ultra model introduces a 31-speaker Bang & Olufsen luxury sound system, as well as the AcuraWatch 360 suite of advanced driver assistance technologies.

The 2025 MDX and MDX Type S SUVs will begin arriving at Acura dealerships in Canada in early June. Prices for each model in the range should be announced between now and then.
