2025 Acura MDX Finally Says Goodbye to Infotainment Touchpad


The Acura MDX is one of the most luxurious midsize SUVs on the market. This SUV must have a lot going for it, considering it continued to have a touch pad control for the infotainment system. It’s surprising that Acura continues to be stubborn about this infotainment control system. Fortunately, 2025 Acura MDX it gets a nice new touch screen to give us what we want on the dashboard.

Out with the old, in with the new

Acura finally ditched the in-console touchpad and replaced it with a 12.3-inch touchscreen. This gives the center area more room for additional usable storage and makes it easier to access the wireless charging area.

The new screen has built-in Google technology and supports the desired integration of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. If you’re an audiophile, you’ll love the standard 11-speaker sound system or the upgraded 19-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system.

Completing the infotainment/entertainment upgrade is better sound insulation and a glazed rear glass, which helps make the cabin quieter than ever.

Acura added a new trim to the MDX lineup

The Acura MDX already has six trim levels. The 2025 model also has six but adds a new name while dropping the base Type S. This new trim, the A-Spec Advanced, slots between the Advance and Type S Advance models. This new trim gives you:

  • Woven leather, rub front seats
  • 16-way power seats
  • Heated second row seats
  • 360 degree camera
  • Additional sound insulation and glass
  • Header display

The Type S Advance trim is the top model of the 2025 Acura MDX. It has a new sound system with 31 Bang & Olufsen speakers. This turns the MDX into a concert hall on wheels and gives you six speakers in addition to the ELS’s 25-speaker finishing system.

Did Acura improve the exterior of the MDX?

Each version of the new Acura MDX receives a few exterior updates. These include a new bumper shape and an open grille with a new mesh design. The A-Spec has the same front end as the Type S Advance, with a five-point grille and blacked-out trim.

All 2025 MDX models have new 20-inch wheels, except for the Type S Advance. The top model has a new set of 21-inch split wheels, making it easier to see the red Brembo four-piston front brake calipers.

The AcuraWatch system is even better

The 2025 Acura MDX receives an upgraded AcuraWatch safety suite with a new front camera and grille-mounted radar. These items have a wide field of view. The range of the rear blind spot monitoring system has also been increased to keep you and your passengers safer.

The 2025 model year Acura MDX has been improved in many ways, giving drivers more of what they want. More specifically, the change to the touchscreen is a big step in the right direction for this mid-size SUV.
