Cupra wants to tease a new electric car

The Cupra DarkRebel is different, it’s sharper, it’s new, and with this show car, you as a driver don’t agree with the car in the seat, but the car changes for the driver with the changing steering wheel and other things. Cupra deliberately uses “provocative design” and wants to be noticed.

This idea is less about the preview of the production car, which is still open, it is about “reality,” says Cupra. For the brand, DarkRebel is a symbol of the “Cupra strategy”. So you want to stop here.

Designers were allowed to let their imaginations run wild and include things like an aluminum-titanium alloy on the center console or “super sports bucket seats come with custom-made 3D covers.” Different lighting is meant to “bring material to life” and create a “complete experience”.

Let’s see which elements of this concept will end up in the Cupra series cars and if the brand can really implement such a sports car in the long run. For me, Cupra DarkRebel is a bit “too much” and over-the-top, but Cupra writes that that’s exactly what they want to achieve.
