Sky UK: “Newey has informed Red Bull. He wants Ferrari for Hamilton”

Adrian Newey, the “genius” of Formula 1, has expressed his intention to end his long-term relationship with the Red Bull team. Joining the Milton Keynes team from McLaren in 2006, Newey has overseen the design of all of Red Bull’s title-winning cars, including the current flagship model on the circuit. Despite previous offers from Ferrari and ties to Italy, Newey chose to stay with Red Bull for nearly two decades, until this dramatic change. UK Sky Sports has just confirmed.

Newey’s Possible Future and Ferrari Implications

According to what was reported by Auto Motor und Sport and confirmed by Sky Sports, Newey has informally discussed his intention to leave the team with key people at Red Bull. “It’s a watershed situation, but there’s certainly something important in the idea that Adrian wants to leave.”, said Craig Slater of Sky Sports News. Further information from Sky UK confirms that Newey is interested in a future with Ferrari, joining Lewis Hamilton.: “This is what several officials close to Newey have told me. He has communicated informally with some Red Bull executives that he wants to leave the team.”
