Aston Martin is having a positive run in Japan

The Japan Grand Prix was a great race for the Aston Martin team. Alonso started on the soft tire and looked very fast at the start of the race. By giving Piastri DRS at the end of the race he put Russell behind him, which gave him a good P6. The walk began further back in the field. He made a small run to catch, but unfortunately did not score any points. P12 was where he finished.

Fernando Alonso said he had a great weekend: “P5 in qualifying and P6 in the race. It was one of my best races in recent memory.” However, the Spaniard was not the only one who made this weekend so great. “Our plan today worked. I would like to thank the team for the great pit stops, the pit crew did a great job.” However, Alonso feels there is more: “We still have to analyze our updates, so we are looking at this week’s deadline to return to Shanghai.”

Stroll: “Today was difficult”

Lance Stroll, unlike his colleague, did not have an easy race. “It was a tough race today. The fact that we had to start from sixteenth meant a different strategy and no free air. We also had less speed on the straight.” However, the Canadian was undaunted: “I made a good overdrive in Turn 6, so it was a fun race.” For now, Stroll has his eyes on the future: “We will take everything we learned this weekend to China.”
