Fernando Alonso: “Our plan worked this time” / Formula 1

Fernando Alonso finished sixth in the Japanese GP. The two-time world champion was delighted with the result and praised his Aston Martin team for their good performance during the pit stops.

Fernando Alonso was already in good form after qualifying at the Suzuka Circuit. The Formula 1 veteran took a few risks while chasing times and was rewarded with fifth place on the grid. Although he could not maintain his position and finished sixth, the proud Asturian’s race record was also good.

“It was a good weekend for me, first I took fifth place in the final training session, then I took sixth place in the GP. “It was one of my best races in a long time,” summed up the 32-time GP winner with satisfaction.

Alonso is convinced: “Perhaps we did better today than our true strength suggested. So far this season we have been able to execute the race well and get good points for the team. Our plan worked well today.”

The legendary Spaniard also praised: “The team deserves a big thanks especially for the good pit stops, they were amazing.” And with a view to the update that the racing team from Silverstone in Japan brought to the track, he explained: “We still have to analyze the package and we will look closely at this weekend’s data before traveling to Shanghai.”
