Ferrari has announced the discontinuation of its Ferrari Portofino M, a variant of the popular Portofino convertible, in order to make room for the new Roma Spider. The Portofino M, which debuted in 2020, was a performance-oriented version of the original Portofino, boasting a V8 engine that produced 612 horsepower and a 0-62 mph time of just 3.4 seconds.
The move to discontinue the Portofino M comes as Ferrari makes room for the new Roma Spider, which features a 3.9-liter V8 engine that produces 620 horsepower and a 0-62 mph time of just 3.3 seconds. The Roma Spider is also equipped with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, making it one of the most powerful and technically advanced convertibles on the market.
Ferrari has not yet revealed when the Roma Spider will be available, but it is expected to be released sometime in 2021. The Roma Spider will be offered in both coupe and convertible versions, with the convertible version likely to be the more popular choice.
The Portofino M was a highly sought-after model and its discontinuation will no doubt come as a disappointment to many Ferrari enthusiasts. However, the introduction of the Roma Spider is sure to excite fans of the brand and it is likely to be an even more popular model than the Portofino M.
