Gino Borsoi (Pramac): “Stop rumours” / MotoGP

Pramac Ducati team manager Gino Borsoi talks about the future partnership with the Borgo Panigale factory and reveals why Jorge Martin is stronger than ever in the 2024 MotoGP season.

From the perspective of the Pramac Ducati team, the 2024 MotoGP opener was tailor-made. Vice world champion Jorge Martin was the only driver to be on the podium in all four races. Among other things, the sprint victory in Qatar and winning the Portuguese GP meant that the 26-year-old Madrilenian currently leads the World Cup with 60 points. In the team world championship, the team is also in second place, in of the astonishing distance of the leaders of the Lenovo Ducati team.

Pramac racing with Ducati – this success story will continue to be written in the future – confirmed team manager Gino Borsoi in an interview with GPOne: “There are always rumors in the paddock, that’s why it’s better to rely on contracts. We have an option with Ducati for the next two years and we are happy with them. Almost everything is signed, so we can put an end to these rumors about a possible change of manufacturer. The world would have to end before we think of a change.”

Borsoi reported on the success of his character Jorge Martin: “He adjusted his training and nutrition program during the winter, which helped him lose weight. Now he rides a lot to be mentally and physically fit, during the race.

Last year, Martin fought very closely with Francesco Bagnaia for the world title until the final in Valencia. Meanwhile, “Martinator” turned up the heat in the second half of the season, where he won three of his four victories. «Last year we didn’t start the year badly, but it took us a long time to adapt Jorge’s riding style to the new bike. We only managed to do it in the middle of the season. This year we are lucky that the GP24 has been working perfectly since the first test, Ducati has done a great job at this stage. But Jorge also worked hard on his physical and mental strength during the winter, which is now paying off.”

Regarding the fact that Martin leads the World Championship table after the first four races of his fourth MotoGP season, Borsoi said with a smile: “Now it’s Martin 4.0.”
