Giovanni Soldini, Ten years at sea and John Elkann’s introduction to Maserati

Sea navigator Giovanni Soldini, drawing on a photo archive, traces all the records, victories, challenges and technological achievements, great results, research and evolution of the sports partnership with Maserati. A partnership that has allowed, over a period of ten years, to achieve great goals and test new methods of sea navigation through the creation of two yachts: the Vor70 monohull and the Maserati Multi70 trimaran. From the first studies and tests of flying attachments, through triumphs and even bitter defeats, the alliance between Soldini and Maserati has always pushed the boundaries, until the conversion of the trimaran into the first multihull flying race with a fully electric system.

Besides about 250 photos, the most famous Italian sailor recounts the technical results, but also the difficulties and dangers, the most important human and emotional events, recorded during four voyages around the world. Exploration and maritime defense have also been at the center of the relationship between Maserati and Giovanni Soldini. For this reason, the Maserati Multi70 has combined the liberation of energy with a scientific project for the collection and monitoring of data on its routes.
