Question 1: Raffeale Marciello at the top of his game
The session was interrupted less than 4 minutes from the end following the exit of the Porsche 911 GT3 R n°54/Dinamic GT Huber Racing. As the clock was frozen as soon as the red flag was raised, drivers were able to continue their quest for pole for the final test. Raffaele Marciello went all out on the two pole mounted Ferrari 296 GT3s to lift the Team No.88 AKKODIS ASP Mercedes-AMG GT3 to the top of the order in 1:22.258, taking his 13th.e best position in the Sprint Cup since 2017. Albert Costa also improved his best time, but fell 3rd from pole with a 1:22.565 in the Ferrari #69 of Emil Frey Racing, ahead of the sister car n °14 of Konsta Lappalainen ( 1 :22.625), together with Audi R8 LMS GT3 n°40/Tresor Orange 1 (1:22.825). Audis have also won poles in the Silver Cup (Tresor Attempto Racing) as well as in the Gold Cup (Boutsen VDS).
Question 2: Christopher Mies takes a pole
As in Q1, exiting the track interrupted the timing discussions in the middle of the session. The exit of the N°99/Tresor Attempto Racing Audi in the gravel trap of the mid-course Paddock Hill Bend gave the drivers time to make several attempts in a row. Christopher Mies fulfilled that duty by completing 3.916 kilometers of the British track in 1:21.716 hours at the wheel of the Audi n°27 of the Saintéloc Youth Team. The German manufacturer gets the front row thanks to Christopher Haase for the second time in the n°11/Comtoyou Racint Audi (1:21.970), while Giacomo Altoe will start on the second row with the n°14/Emil Frey Racing, with Audi n. °25/Saintéloc Youth Team. Pole in the Gold Cup went to Gilles Magnus (Audi / Comtoyou) while Nicola Marinangelli (Ferrari / AF Corse) distinguished himself in the Silver Cup.
The two races will be contested this Sunday at 12:05 pm and 5:10 pm (French time).
