Wolfsburg/Weirstdad. In the photo survey “Best products in all classes”, Škoda once again achieved excellent results and repeated its record result from 2023: As in the previous year, readers of the largest European car magazine Auto Bild voted the Czech brand the best – performance winner in three categories and in two overall winner scores.

For the 13th time, readers and online users were asked to vote on how they see 40 car brands in 14 car classes. Which brand performs best in terms of quality, design and value for money, and which has the best image? In addition to individual ratings, an overall winner was determined for each car class. In the segment, several brand designs could be represented – but votes were always cast for the entire brand.

Skoda wins

In its April 18, 2024 edition, the business magazine describes the results as “a measure of the image of car brands in Germany”. And on this barometer, Skoda is clearly on top of the sun. When it comes to compact cars and mid-size SUVs, participants consider Skoda to be the best brand on the German market. In the compact category, Skoda Scala and Octavia were part of the field of participants. With the Kodiaq, Enyaq and Enyaq Coupé, Skoda introduced three mid-size SUV models.

Apart from these two overall wins, they also prove that Škoda models have the best price-performance ratio of all brands in the small car, mid-size SUV and mid-range segment represented by the Superb.

Also of note: In the overall list of all brands across all segments, readers voted Skoda the best-sounding brand – third overall behind premium carmakers Porsche in first place and BMW in second place. This means that the Czech subsidiary is also ahead of the Wolfsburg brand.

Success for Cupra

But the young Cupra brand also managed to find success. The Cupra beat its competitors in the small car category with 68.59 percent of the vote in the “Design” category. With nearly 20,000 new registrations in the first three months of the year, the Challenger brand just celebrated the best first quarter in its young history.

Readers had to take about 30 minutes to answer a questionnaire designed by experts. The 40 most important brands in Germany were evaluated in a total of 14 vehicle classes.
