JoJo Siwa He has spoken about the rumors that he stole his new song Miley Cyrus and Brit Smith … telling TMZ that he in no way deleted the single from anyone.
We caught up with the 20-year-old outside of Studio Siwa in Burbank, where he told us how he got his viral hit, “Karma.” As JoJo put it … she was assigned a song — which she defended as a very common thing in the music industry.
He added … “What happens is, people write songs and then they don’t do anything with them. And then, a few years later, it makes more sense to another artist.”
ICYMI … Brit’s version of the song went viral on TikTok this week after JoJo released her new music video. Brit take on “Karma” is reported from 2012, but never officially released – and there were even rumors Miley recorded a demo for it too.
JoJo confirmed that the song was not by another pop singer … as “Karma” is the brainchild of the production team Rock Mafia, who created Miley’s songs, Selena Gomez and Demi Lovatoamong others.
He defended himself … “I didn’t steal anything. There’s no such thing as stealing — I also don’t know who Brit Smith is.”
As for the criticism, JoJo said song it has served its purpose … to attract public attention.
JoJo is set to debut “Karma” at Miami Beach Pride Sunday … along with some of her other new songs.
