Lexus is not the first in the marine world: in 2019 it presented the LY 650, a Lexus yacht of 65 feet (19.96 meters) resulting from an agreement between the Japanese company and the American ship Marquis Yachts. Now it’s time for the second yacht: LY 680, an abbreviation indicating 68 feet, so it is slightly larger than the original with a length of 20.66 meters, and a maximum beam of 5.76. At the moment it is just a project, and the launch of the first unit is expected not before the spring of 2026. However, from the headquarters of Lexus in Nagoya, they have informed that the style, equipment and engine have. It has been revealed that the construction will be carried out by the Horizon group, Asia’s leading brand in the luxury yacht industry.

IN COMMUNICATION WITH THE SEA

The first renderings released by Lexus suggest that the flybridge (upper deck) and lounge areas have been expanded to ensure more space and improve the pleasure of living outdoors in contact with the sea. A message from the company explains that “the concept behind this luxury yacht is to feel at home in the middle of the sea, and to provide a space where the most demanding customers can feel free and at ease”. In more detail, the flybridge now has a large sofa for relaxing and a barbecue, while the aft area has been extended by 700 mm, to allow more leisure and sports activities, including the possibility of using jet skis.

GREAT BEAUTY

As for the interior, it is emphasized that “they are taken care of down to the smallest detail to provide a comfortable living space”, but no further details were given. It is certain that the six beds in three cabins and three bathrooms envisioned for the last 650 LY will be confirmed. The engine is assigned to two Volvo Penta IPS 1350/1050. Performance is currently undisclosed. However, the company expected that “Lexus aims to achieve reliable travel performance, offering perfect maneuverability, excellent navigation comfort and silence”.
