Harry King celebrates a double victory at the start

Double victory for Harry King in the season opener of the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Germany: After Saturday’s race, the Brit from the Partner Racing team also won the second race on Sunday at the Formula 1 race in Imola.

Defending champion Larry ten Voorde finished his first outing in the Proton Huber Championship with second place.

Double performance in third place: Frenchman Marvin Klein and his Italian team Target Competition are guests in the German one-off and Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.

Harry King, who started the race from second place, managed to pull off a winning maneuver after just a few metres. In the first chicane he passed Theo Oeverhaus (Bonk Motorsport), the fastest in qualifying. He then had little trouble keeping Larry ten Voorde behind him.

“Saturday’s race was already good. But with my race engineer I was able to make my car faster today. Two wins without starting from pole position – the weekend went perfectly,” said King, praising the work of his team.

The fight in the first chicane was unlucky for Theo Oeverhaus. The 19-year-old from Osnabrück started the German Carrera Cup race from pole position for the first time. The tie rod of his Porsche 911 GT3 Cup bent after a bit of contact in the battle for position with King – Oeverhaus was forced to give up.

Larry ten Voorde began his quest for his fourth German Carrera Cup title with two second places. “Unlike yesterday, I had a good start – the deep work with the team was worth it. Afterwards, I was able to stay out of the battle for any position and fully focus on my race,” concluded the record champion.

It continues on April 27th and 28th with races 3 and 4 in Oschersleben – live on ran.de and in the running app.
