Mini-Maestros ready for premiere – All news from Laarbeek

Activities and Events

Liesout – It was a tough pill to swallow for the youngest conductors in the Netherlands. On Monday they were allowed to conduct a real orchestra for the first time. Just for a little while, to taste it. Next Saturday they will make their official mini-maestro debut in concert with Harmonie St Caecilia.

It was a good experience. The young conductors stepped into the box with tense faces. The tension quickly turned to surprise. Amazing how much control they have. Loud, smooth, the orchestra responds immediately. Monday was practice, Saturday is real. It is a special project of Harmonie St Caecilia. The association enables primary school children to understand what it is like to conduct an orchestra. A music project about leadership, music and conducting. The highlight for the five students is to perform an entire piece of music next Saturday during the mini-maestro concert.

Save the place
The show will start on April 13 at 3 am in the main hall of Het Dorpshuis. Entry to the mini-maestro concert is free, but because a lot of interest is expected, places must be reserved. This can be done through the Harmony Sint Caecilia website, www.harmoniesout.nl.
