Morrison Wildcats vs. Hennessey Eagles

Morrison scored the most runs they have had all season on Monday. They never let the Hennessey Eagles get on the board and walked away with a 14-0 win. Considering Morrison has hit seven games by more than five runs this season, Monday’s loss was nothing new.

Sterlin Casey excelled no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, throwing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (he also didn’t allow any walks). Casey was also solid in the batter’s box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

In other hitting news, Morrison got a great performance from Kasey Rupp, who went 2-for-3 with five RBIs, a stolen base, and a run. Briggs Roe was another key contributor, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3.

The win (which was Morrison’s sixth) raised their record to 11-8. That good result was largely due to their batting performance in the series, as they averaged 9.7 runs per game. For Hennessey, the loss was their tenth in a row on the road since last season, which dropped their record to 5-14.
