The Nissan Formula E team aims to confirm the podium in the first Misano E-Prix

The Nissan Formula E Team aims to extend the series of positive results also at the Misano Marco Simoncelli World Circuit, the sixth and seventh rounds of the 10th season of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.

After Oliver Rowland’s impressive performances in Diriyah, Sao Paulo and at his home event in Tokyo, which saw him take two pole positions and three podiums in a row, the team is in good spirits ahead of the first Misano E-Prix.

Even if the Italian circuit represents a different challenge, the team is comforted by the fastest pace recorded in Tokyo by Sacha Fenestraz, who climbed nine places almost to the points.

The usual Misano circuit has been changed to Formula E, especially in the first sector, and features a chicane instead of a high-speed right-hander on the back straight.

The 3.381 km track is very fast, with 14 corners that can provide plenty of overtaking opportunities, especially with careful energy management playing a key role.

The weekend on the Adriatic coast also features the FP0 session, designed to allow young drivers to test Formula E cars Caio Collet, reserve driver and simulator of the Nissan Formula E Team, will also have his first experience in the Nissan e- 4ORCE. 04, after spending several hours in the team simulator.

The test track will start with FP0 and FP1 on Friday, qualifying at 10:20 CEST and the E-Prix at 15:00 CEST on Saturday and Sunday.

Nissan speaks Italian in Formula E

On the occasion of the return of Formula E to Italy, and the first of the Misano circuit in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, the Nissan Formula E Team, after the last round in Tokyo, somehow plays at home again, given the big . Italian presence in the team. Starting with Tommaso Volpe, current General Manager of Nissan Formula E and CEO of the Nissan Formula E Team and head of Nissan Motorsport since 2020.

Also the Italian DOC is Pier Giuseppe Anselma, a 31-year-old from Piedmont who has already been responsible for energy management in the Nissan Formula E Team for two seasons.

Always attentive to issues of diversity and inclusion, Nissan boasts the presence of 6 women in leading positions in the field of motorsport, two of whom are Italian. We talk about Francesca Valdani from Monza, Team Manager and Sporting Director of the Nissan Team in Formula E, the strategic role for the company in its relations with the International Automobile Federation and Maria De Juana, Head of Communications at Nissan Global Motorsport.

Finally, Sasha Fenestraz, the French-Argentine driver who distinguishes himself in this tenth season in the same Nissan seat with Oliver Rowland, lives permanently in our country.

Tommaso Volpe, General Manager of Nissan Formula E e General Manager of the Nissan Formula E Team He said: “Our performance in the last three races has been strong, especially from Oli and the third podium. We got good points and showed great speed, which shows that our car works well on different types of tracks. The speed is there, which is encouraging going forward of Misano, where we will have to face new challenges. The track is not like the ones we have faced so far this season, they are fast and wide. Energy management will be an important aspect for all teams, so we will try to increase our race speed while remaining efficient as possible, a balance that is never easy to achieve. It is difficult to have consistency in this championship, but we manage to find it and we strive to maintain and develop this positive trend.”

Oliver Rowland, Nissan Formula E Team driver he said: “This weekend presents a different kind of challenge to those we have faced so far this season. It’s been a great few weeks for us, with three podiums in as many races, which exceeded our expectations as a team. We need to keep our feet on the ground and maintain this momentum. We have been very strong recently, especially in qualifying, but we must continue to work race after race and focus on our work. We also need to improve our car on different types of circuits, which will be difficult but important if we want to keep fighting at the top of the standings.”

Sacha Fenestraz, driver, Nissan Formula E Team He said: “It was a difficult start to the season for me, as a team we struggled in the first two rounds, then when we worked, the pace picked up. On my part, I made a mistake which, because of the very close nature of Formula E, cost me a good opportunity. However, we are satisfied with our race pace. Now I will focus more on the weekend, from start to finish, and I will be back to fight for the top positions. The Misano track looks interesting, we expect it to be a challenge for energy management and a tough weekend, but we are aiming to get important points, so we will stay focused and give everything!”

Caio Collet, reserve driver and simulator, Nissan Formula E Team he said: “I can’t wait to face FP0 and the whole weekend with the team. I’ve been working on the simulator a lot, so I’m really excited to get in the car and see how it works compared to the simulator. It will be a good experience for me and I hope I can help the team more. FP0 it will be important to know the track and set-up before Oli and Sacha leave for FP1, so I’m looking forward to this opportunity.”
