Official: Pagani Huayra R Evo (2024) – harder, more powerful, faster

While the regular Pagani Huayra has already passed the torch to pagan utopia, The Italian-based Argentine supercar specialist continues to offer special editions of the Huayra. That’s not surprising, because we saw the same situation with the Zonda, when it was replaced by the Huayra. But we are not going to make a fuss about it, on the contrary.

The youngest in the list is this Pagani Huayra R Evo – yes, the evolutionary version of Huayra R. Modifications can be found almost everywhere: in terms of mechanics and in terms of aerodynamics or aesthetics.

The Pagani Huayra R Evo has the V12 from the HWA-developed Huayra R in the middle of the rear, albeit in a version upgraded to 900 hp (+ 50 hp) and 770 Nm (+ 20 Nm). The naturally aspirated six-liter can also go on longer before the rev limiter intervenes: the red zone starts at 9,200 rpm, another 200 rpm higher.

A six-speed sequential gearbox is still used as a gearbox, also made by HWA. It weighs only 80 kg and contributes to the rigidity of the whole, because it is directly connected to the engine and body structure. As always, all power goes to the rear wheels.

Since the Pagani Huayra R Evo is intended exclusively for the track, the 19-inch rims at the front and 20-inch rims at the rear are worn with Pirelli PZero slicks. Behind the rims are carbon-ceramic brakes, while the suspension uses two triangles of forged aluminum, combined with shock absorbers, including the so-called lifting damper, a solution from the race that allows you to better control the height of the body – and for that too. aerodynamics can keep control.

Pagani Huayra R Evo: racing-aerodynamics

Even more than its extra power, the Pagani Huayra R Evo is distinguished by its modern aerodynamics. So he takes the long tail from the Huayra Codalunga, and rear overhang stretched 7.5 inches (19 cm). And it doesn’t stop there: this Italian hypercar is also further ahead, thanks to the big split. Also note the ‘dorsal fin’ on the roof, which extends over the hood and should improve stability.

The roof itself still has two panels that can be removed, so that you can complete your circuit under the open sky – according to Pagani, in this way you get the feeling of an Indycar (in other words, the American F1 counterpart). In addition, smaller wings for the front wheels, and Pagani claims that downforce has been improved by 45 percent compared to the Huayra R.

Pagani Huayra R Evo: as fast as LMP2

Thanks to the extra power, maximum power and improved suspension, the Huayra R Evo can achieve lap times on soft tires that match those of the LMP2 prototypes – which will mean that it is slower than the Hypercars that took the overall victory in the competition.
