Pagani Zonda reimagined as a futuristic concept for its 25th birthday

In 2024, we are witnessing the 50th anniversary – the 25th year since the introduction of the Pagani Zonda, the machine that redefined the hypercar genre.

To mark this milestone, the European Institute of Innovation (IED) recently unveiled the stunning Alisea car, a vision designed by 24 of the school’s top students to study the future of Pagani’s iconic Zonda.

Alisea’s birth

The Alisea Concept serves as a nod to Pagani Zonda’s quarter-century heritage, embodying the essence of what has made the car legendary among enthusiasts and collectors alike.

Horacio Pagani’s original vision, combining the fields of art and automotive engineering, finds new expression in Alisea.

This project, developed with the express approval of Horacio, shows the right combination of innovative design and respectability, ensuring the spirit of Zonda continues to thrive in the future.

Master class in design and aerodynamics

The Alisea concept car is not just a tribute but a deep interpretation of Zonda’s design philosophy.

Drawing inspiration from past, present and future sources, the most influential elements include the design techniques of the Renaissance, especially from the sacred works of the great artist Leonardo da Vinci.

Students at IED have created a car that has the golden ratio and the Fibonacci sequence and modern design styles. This blend of traditional aesthetics and modern aesthetics is reflected in the car boasting a V12 mid-engine configuration, a tribute to its Le Mans-led aerodynamic efficiency.

The design details of the Alisea concept car emphasize a careful consideration of aesthetics and performance. From the long tail silhouette to the subtly integrated features such as the cut-out headlights and black-tinted taillights, every aspect of the Alisea has been carefully integrated.

The use of satin paint accentuates the car’s sculpted body, highlighting the designers’ focus on simplicity and elegance.

Will we see the Pagani Alisea in production?

While the Alisea concept car made its public debut in Italy, marking the start of its journey, its fate as a production model remains uncertain – if not entirely hopeful.

As a collaborative project with Pagani, Alisea stands alone as a unique concept that symbolizes creative innovation and future possibilities.

But despite the lack of specific powertrain details or performance claims, many remain optimistic. Pagani’s history of fulfilling unique customer requests hints at the possibility of limited production runs in the future, reflecting the exclusivity of past models such as the Codalunga.
