The next career step for the former champion Siebdrath / IDM Supersport 600

In the middle of 2023, Marvin Siebdrath jumped from the 300 Supersport class to the end of IDM Supersport. This year he would like to swim far ahead.

The first half of the 2023 season was not entirely satisfactory for Marvin Siebdrath. As the 2022 IDM Supersport 300 champion on Kawasaki, he moved to the Kiefer Racing team on Yamaha. As his promotion to the 600cc Supersport category was planned this year and there was not much else to gain in the IDM Supersport 300, he competed in the final two in Kiefer colors in the larger Supersport class.

2024 will now be his first full year in the next top class, with the Wildenfels native joining Yamaha Racing and the M32 team run by three-time German 600cc champion Max Enderlein from the Sachsenring town of Hohenstein-Ernstthal.

Recalling his double IDM Supersport (600) 2023 race, in which he would have scored twice, but as a guest starter he was not entitled to anything meaningful, he said shortly before the start of the 2024. season from May 3 to 5 Sachsenring told SPEEDWEEK.com: “I knew it was a difficult step because in terms of riding style and power it was something completely different to the 300cc. I jumped in deep there, but considering this season it was a big step to prepare a little bit. But obviously it was a good and important step.”

He was very busy with physical training during the winter, but also completed a total of 18 days of testing with the motorcycle. Only in Cremona, Italy
He and his class and brand mates Andreas Kofler and Lennox Lehmann were on the road with their racing bikes, otherwise normal motorcycles with GYTR racing modifications had to be used.

“Apart from Assen and Hockenheim, I come to the IDM tracks without any use of 600cc. Still, I feel more prepared than before. Both in terms of driving, physically and mentally. “Now I’m looking forward to the Sachsenring,” says the young man aged 20 years old, very hopeful.

Before the first race and the first serious assessment of his position, he does not want to make any predictions about his goals. However, he revealed: “Now we have to wait and see what the balance of power looks like, but the top 5 is already the goal. I also want to taste the podium towards the end of the season.”

Marvin Siebdrath is already satisfied with his new environment. “I am very happy that I joined Max (Enderlein) Yamaha Racing and the M32 team. It was clear from the beginning that I would ride for Yamaha, regardless of the team. I have known Max for a very long time and we have always had a good relationship. We are both from Saxony and now I have a short distance for the team.
