#Volvo continues to improve the comfort and integration of its designs: With the latest #Ad over the Air update, Volvo cars with integrated Google infotainment system are getting more performance. For example, smart phone connectivity via Apple CarPlay is now possible: Users can now connect their iPhone to the car via USB cable to access their iOS apps such as Apple Music or Apple Maps directly via the touch screen.
With the Air Force Update (OTA), which has been a regular feature since early 2021, the Swedish paid car manufacturer has been making its vehicles better and better even after delivery – wireless from afar, without visiting a Volvo partner . The latest program is loaded onto the main screen with just a few clicks. Customers therefore enjoy maximum flexibility.
“With Advanced Air Updates, our customers can enjoy the new service quickly and easily,” says Sanela Ibrovic, Head of Integrated Experience at Volvo Vehicles. “Despite the updates, the new Volvo does not remain where it came from in the factory, it continues to improve after being introduced.”
Aside from Apple Car Play, the latest update also created conditions for the introduction of video platforms in Volvo formats: Video, live streams and information can be viewed on the car when the car is parked. In addition to video streaming, streaming apps such as Sygic and Flitsmeister, charging apps such as Chargepoint and Plugshare as well as parking apps such as Spot Hero and Park Whiz will be available for download.
The last OTA update published in April 2022 was released to more than 197,000 vehicles. The new update will be released in 14 markets, including Germany. With each update, the number of vehicles benefiting from it increases. In April, Volvo Cars also announced that all new Volvo models will receive wireless software updates in the future.
