In the competitive world of luxury cars, Infiniti tends to get unfairly lost in the shuffle. We say ‘unfair’ because there isn’t much to dislike about his cars, they just don’t leave much of a mark these days. This wallflower era may be coming to an end as it revealed the all-new 2025 Infiniti QX80, a luxury SUV we can’t get rid of.

The new full-size SUV is a serious repositioning for the Japanese automaker’s flagship company, the first of a series of big shows that Infiniti is calling a “product revitalization”.

Although it retains some features of the outgoing car, the new SUV is less cheeky than its predecessor, presenting itself with sharper lines and a more streamlined exterior. Overall, it looks like a mix of Range Rover and Lexus styling.

At its core, the new QX80 is powered by a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 that cranks out 450hp and 516 lb ft of torque, both figures an increase over the 5.6-liter V8 it replaces. Power is sent to the rear or all wheels through a nine-speed automatic gearbox.

The SUV’s new frame appears to be 57 percent stiffer and can be fitted with air suspension as well as a set of electronically activated dampers Infiniti calls its “digital suspension” to reduce bumps and body roll. Its air suspension can smooth things out even more, increasing the ride height by 2.4in when it needs to be firmer, but it can also drop 2.8in when parked to ease passengers off.

Inside the revised interior are two 14.3in displays that, among other things, work in tandem with a number of cameras to provide improved situational awareness. Its “wide front view” gives drivers viewing angles to see around parked cars or the ability to better navigate tight parking spaces while the “invisible high view” gives them an unobstructed view of the terrain ahead, similar to what is featured on A new defender.

There are a number of safety features and luxury features, although the best looks start with the second row. Now the rear passengers can enjoy the heating and cooling functions of the first row, as well as massage functions. The range also features biometric cooling, meaning the car will measure rear passengers with an infrared sensor in the headliner and adjust the climate controls to keep them comfortable. Scary, but cool. The third row is not luxurious but also has the functionality of a heated seat.

There is a ‘Journey Diary’ feature that can capture photos and videos inside and outside the car for (trembles) share social networks, memories or evidence. The QX80 is equipped with a high-quality sound system from Klipsch, ranging from a 12-speaker system to a set of 24 speakers with a power of 1,200 watts and an 8in subwoofer.

Overall, the QX80 comes in six grades, the rear-wheel drive model starting at $82,450 while the top-grade Autograph 4WD comes in at $110,595. We will see the Infiniti QX80 in person at this year’s New York International Auto Show where it will be shown live.
