Vettel, Bottas and Schumacher, Hakkinen and Coulthard will battle it out this weekend at the ROC.

Sebastian Vettel, now retired from Formula 1, will be in Finland this weekend with some of his former colleagues from the paddock. Mick Schumacher will also be part of the trip as he will ride in the same team as Vettel for the second year in a row. Valtteri Bottas will also be there but it will be the first for an Alfa Romeo driver.

“It’s very difficult here and this field but we have the spirit to win. » explains Vettel.

“I had a good break. But now you can’t really say that I’m on break. I could appreciate the time. We’ve already traveled from Switzerland so it’s good that we’ve seen all this scenery. We made a lot of interesting stops on the road and last year we said to ourselves that it was so good here that we had to come on a road trip. »

Mick Schumacher, for his part, confirmed the German team’s desire to get the final victory. He thinks he is right “more effective this year compared to last year. »

Valtteri Bottas is part of the Finnish team. He is associated with Mika Hakkinen. “I don’t drive on ice very often, but I have already done the Arctic Race twice in Finland. With Mika, a story of sorts, I think we have our chance. »

The French team is made up of Sebastien Loeb and the son of Patrick Tambay, currently in the Touring Championship, Adrien Tambay. Last year, Loeb won ROC 2022 individually. The winning team/nation was Peter Solberg and his son, Oliver, for Norway.

Also note the presence of David Coulthard (former F1 driver) who will be joined by Jamie Chadwick, winner of the 2022, 2021 and 2020 W Series women’s championship.

This Friday, Norway qualified for the quarterfinals along with France, Sweden, the “Nordic” team, the USA and the All Stars team.
